Miss Vietnam World 2010 Luu Thi Diem Huong has finished in the top 20 of Miss Grand Slam, at the 17th position.
On December 21, Global Beauties announced the top ten of Miss Grand Slam, but the list doesn’t have Diem Huong.
The top ten includes four contestants of Miss Universe. The six remaining representatives are contestants of Miss World, Miss Earth and Miss Supernational.
The only Asian representative in the list is Miss Earth Nicole Faria (India). The remaining nine contestants are the representative of Albania at Miss Universe, the first runner-up of Miss Super-national from Czech Republic, the first runner-up of Miss World from Botswana, the first runner-up of Miss Earth from Ecuador, Miss Universe from Mexico, the contestants of Ireland and Puerto Rico at Miss Universe, the second runner-up of Miss World from Venezuela and Miss Super-national from Panama.
Diem Huong is the fifth Vietnamese girl selected for the Miss Grand Slam. Previously, Mai Phuong Thuy, who ranked 17th of Miss World 2006 and Truong Tri Truc Diem, Miss Fashion at Miss Earth 2007 entered the top 70 of Miss Grand Slam. Thuy Lam, 15th at Miss Universe 2008, ranked 57th in 2008. Huong Giang, 16th at Miss World 2009, entered the top ten and won the Most Beautiful Beauty Queen of Asia.
Miss Grand Slam is a poll on Global Beauties, a famous website on international beauty pageants, to choose the beauty queens of beauty queens in the world.
Global Beauties selected the 87 contestants of Miss Grand Slam from winners or contestants from the finals of five largest beauty pageants in the world: Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Earth, Miss International and Miss Tourism Queen International. However, Miss Tourism Queen International was canceled this year so contestants from the Miss Super-national pageant replaced them.
From 87 contestants, Global Beauties will select the top 50, the top 20 and finally the winner.
The winner will receive a campaign medal named Yulia, designed by Greg Borowski in 1999. The medal is named after Russian beauty queen Yulia Lemigova, who was voted as the Most beautiful girl in the Grand Slam in the 20th century.
Last year the Miss Grand Slam went to the first runner up of the Miss World pageant, Perla Beltran from Mexico.
